The Mistletoe Bride & Other Haunting Tales by Kate Mosse
3.0
This collection of short stories is quite rightly described as 'haunting tales' rather than 'ghost stories'. Enlivening the same settings that feature in her novels, Kate Mosse has created a selection of stories based on local folklore, legends and places she has visited that have inspired her. Many stories involve old houses, ruins, churches and 'timeslips' that connect characters past and present. After (or before) each story, the author has included a brief description of the inspiration behind it; I appreciated this extra insight.
Good to curl up with on winter nights.
