Vagina Problems: Endometriosis, Painful Sex, and Other Taboo Topics by Lara Parker

emotional inspiring sad slow-paced

3.0

Although I think that reading about the challenges that people with chronic illnesses face is very important, I found Vagina Problems to be repetitive and I was hoping for more. After chapter 5 or so it felt like I was reading the same story over and over again without anything new added to it. I like that this book showcases a narrative that is not often acknowledged but I think it would've benefited from some additional research to support the first person account. I also found the title to be somewhat misleading, for I was expecting a comprehensive discussion of all "vagina problems". Instead, this book focused mainly on endometriosis and was predominantly a description of what Parker struggles with daily, which sometimes read as just a rant. This book feels more like reading Parker's diary than anything else.
