finished it in one sitting even though this made me so uncomfortable all over. I don’t know if I liked or hated the book—interesting concept and execution was fairly well done. I was angry, sad and nervous all at once for the mc throughout the whole book.

minus points come from author (who is very much white) being weirdly obsessed with race/skin colour… how were those essential to the plot?
