General Comments: The side characters make up a gallery of familiar types – the no-nonsense captain, the cute youngster, the wiseacre, the gorgeous prince, the brain, and the hothead. These characters and situations are recognisable (particularly if you read Sports Manga); they are dramatic, which allows for plenty of high emotion among the attractive young men, with added undertones of complex friendships.
