Amazing job with the English translation.
(unfortunately there isn't a Goodread entry with the English translation of the book, so I ended up here)
The story starts off in first person, and it doesn't mention the name of the character in first person until the end. That's gives one a feel as if he/she is in control. The fact that the protagonist in first person is shown as an introvert who loves book is the very fact that this story is made to be relatable with any book loving introvert; the author was very ingenious on her behalf in knowing her core audience.
In the end, it really is interesting how people "get along" :D
