I'm glad I managed to finally finish this one! While I'm not sure I like it more than the first light novel, I do think that I enjoyed it more than the second one. It was an interesting look at some of the shenanigans that happen early on when the kids first move into the Heights Alliance dorms, plus a rather endearing first chapter with the teachers, a chapter from the perspective of Koda's pet rabbit, and a bonus chapter set in the fantasy AU that was the backdrop of one of the early end credits of the anime. (This bonus chapter was particularly silly and lighthearted, which feels appropriate.) We get a lot of Mei Hatsume in this light novel, largely indirectly, but it was nice to see her utilized, and we get some additional great character development for Shoto Todoroki and Tenya Iida.
