Empire falls is one of those books that is charming but after some time appears to be going nowhere. It started to feel like it was dragging on, but honestly by the end, it feels like it didn’t drag at all. I’m not sure if that makes sense, but it’s how I feel about the book. It was very good, and I can see why it won a Pulitzer.
