The Distance of the Moon by Italo Calvino

4.0

Three translated short stories (loosely connected) with a cosmic sci-fi theme. Not something I've ventured into much before. Combines imaginative stories with more reflective passages on cosmic processes in the solar system. Experiments with the concept of time. I wasn't absorbed by the characters and dialogue, but enjoyed the more galactic thoughts which featured some brilliant lines. My first Calvino read, but I've seen the author referenced a lot in relation to contemporary concerns, so I'd love to read more.
