I wish I could pin point the exact reason why I'm not swooning over this RH. Honestly, it's a bunch of tiny little things that I think add up to the conclusion that I do not see this couple being together long term and that totally takes me out of the book.

Carolina seems too insecure to be in any sort of healthy relationship.

Clay spent all of book 1 and the first half of book 2 breaking Xanders established boundaries to get with Carolina and then I felt like their chemistry was forced at certain points.

Xander was.. there. He was hurt a few times over Clay but quickly moved past it. Then became king of cringe during spice scenes.

Josh was jealous of the harem but got over that suuuuper quick in my opinion. Then once that argument was over... he pretty faded into the background.

The author tried to make the story realistic in the growing pains a poly couple would experience but it just didn't work for me at all.

Then you get the spice scenes. And let me be very honest here, I've read A LOT of horrible spice. L O T S. But this... it's 😬 yeah it's something alright. Something I skimmed right through cause the spark wasn't there AT ALL. I had to read about Carolina's insecurities, Clay's kitten nickname, and Xanders one man attempt of creating kinks like "good girl/good boy" "soft dom" that felt so incredibly CRINGE to me. And where's Josh? No idea. He was so irrelevant in these scenes it was laughable because his character didn't want to be pushed to the side and yet... he was in my mind repeatedly because he was so lackluster.
