Pits & Poison: These Godly Lies

What a beautiful continuation to the story Raeta spun in the first part of this duology. While Peaches and Honey deals with the limits of mortality and humanity itself, Pits and Poison asks the question: how long does it take for one to forget their humanity, when eternal existence is on the table? This second book opens up the more fantastical side of Raetas world of gods, and it was a joy to learn more about the magic and the immortal characters. Anna's heart is vast as ever and her love for the human world gives context to how we're viewing the struggles and fight that they're facing from immortal foes. The magic is interesting, the adventure thrilling, and surrounding it all is the love for humanity that carries over from the first book. The duology makes for a wonderful pair, one as integral to the overall story as the other. The prose is captivating and just like with the first book, I savoured each and every word.
