I'm... I finished it 2 days ago and didn't even update my status.
2.75? I am so disappointed that I didn't love it as much as everyone else seems to. I wish it had been a 5-star read for me and seemingly every component was there, plus the author KNOWS how to write, but I just didn't feel it? I know, I suck. I can't even tell you what wasn't working for me but I couldn't help but drag my feet through this and my heart wasn't in it. Could be a reading slump, could be the overall mood but the book did nothing to improve the state of things so here I am.
I may re-read in the future when the clusterfuck of the year 2020 is behind us but for now I can't give it more than 2.75. Rounding up to 3 stars because I know this book is important and deserves a high rating even if I - weirdly - can't give it the justice it deserves.
