Rules Of Our Own by J. Wilder

Did not finish book. Stopped at 29%.
I wrote this when I was still committed to finishing this book:

It feels like everything is done to Mia and she is doing nothing for River and Alex at this point.

Right now I do know that she is trying to find investors for her charity, is working at some hospital and has a weirdo ex.
What do I know about the guys? They are hockey players, lived together with Piper in college and Mia liked both guys in college but ghosted them. River is kinda broody and silent whereas Alex is kinda happy-go-lucky.
I literally don‘t know anything else about the three of them at this point.

I watched Mia play some unimportant game with the girls, followed her for a spa day. Why? Idk, but I do know that the only time I‘ve seen the guys was when interacting with her. Like whyyyy? I want all three of them to have an equal relationship and right now Mia is in the middle being worshipped while she is doing NOTHING for the guys. That is not at all equal.

My guesses for the rest of the book: Mia leaves and tries to ghost the guys again „because they are better off without her and probably don‘t even like her“ even though they basically tell her they love her. The guys chase after her, try to get her to take them back. They get closer to each other during this time, but of course it won‘t be shown on page because Mia‘s the main character. Her weirdo ex then tries some shady shit and her guys save her so she finally sees that they do actually love her. Then she moves across the country to be closer to them.

At this point I went to the reviews and wanted to know if it‘s worth finishing. From there I gathered that most of my predictions are somewhat true and the relationship between Alex and River is developed mainly off page, physical more than emotional? But since this book seems to be mostly smut this feels very unbalanced to me.
I also think there won‘t be any more depth to any of the characters, no emotional connetions and no character evolvements so I won‘t finish it.
