Angels Flight
by Michael Connelly
(3.5) Is definitely a four star read but I couldn't deal with the twist because it's a despicable twist that's used far too often in murder mysteries. I know that "this happens in real life" and "I'm too sensitive" and "I should just get over it," but really, it's unnecessary and it drags down the book. The rest of this is a well-layered mystery tale with a wicked ending. Connelly is proof positive that you can get away with cliches if you're a good writer.
