Looking for Smoke
by K.A. Cobell
loved the way Indigenous culture was written and that it was bringing an important issue to attention. I felt like Little Moon showed the effect missing indigenous women had on their familes and friends was done a bit better.
the characters didn't talk like real people. there were too many point of views and it made the story feel like it was going, like instead of a line, it felt like a circle. also please why would we need that many povs 😠and why did they need to be multiple per chapters???? 😠give me one pov per chapter or give me a narrator wth is this it was so hard to follow ðŸ˜
im not saying that the things that happened in this book are unbelievable but the way they were written made me not believe them. the book was a bit longer than it should have been as well and the ending was somehow both to long and to quick. i just think this book needed a bit more editing before getting published.
considering this is the authors debut im going to give half a star more bc like the vision was there i think she just needed to be guided a bit more
