My first Rekulak's book and it left a pleasant impression for me ♡♡♡

The book follow Mallory who has just completed rehabilitation for her drug addiction of about a year. She landed a nanny job to took care of a 5-year-old Teddy who draws pictures of his imaginary friend, Anya. But then, the drawings getting more and more sinister and beyond the talents of a 5-year-old and seems to telling the story of a woman murdered. Mallory with a landscaper, Adrian, begin to investigate futher and try to decipher and understand the drawings .

I devoured the book in a short time, the plot is mesmerizing and the writing style definitely easy to read and affect my curiousity to keep reading the book.

This is a fast-paced story and I love the idea of combining mystery/thriller with sprinkles of horror as one story. I do enjoy the book so much. The first half of the book tells us the mysteriousness of the house, Teddy and his imaginary friend, and Teddy who draws scary things. And you must know!! that there are illustrations of Ted's drawing inside the book, and it gives more creepiness.

The characters were pretty likeable for most of the part, especially Mallory. She's pretty good protagonist and I love her relationship with Teddy and I love the way the author reveal Mallory's backstory in the book. The clues are minimal, I picked up some of the clue to guess what will the twist would be and then when it dropped, it took me by suprised bcs I didn't see it coming and my guesses were all wrong.

If you're mystery/thriller book lovers, this one is definitely one of a kind book that you can't miss!! BUT if you didn't believe in ghost or supranatural/paranormal thing, I think you would find it difficult to follows bcs you'll find it ridiculous ofc.
