To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
5.0
Recommend this book if you like:
-Light romance
-High school setting
-Easy read
There is so much hype around this book, so much so I was worried it wouldn't live up to the expectations I had placed on it. Thankfully it did! I really enjoyed this story, it was an easy light read. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the trilogy.
At the beginning of the book I felt bad for Lara Jean; her sister got the guy she had wanted and she didn't say anything. What I didn't believe was the fact that she claimed throughout the time the trio (Margot, Josh and Lara Jean) spent hanging out she was 'over Josh'. Only for her to have feelings for Josh again after Margot left for uni. I think she should have just owned the fact that she still liked him the whole time.
Margot annoyed me. Anybody else? She was bossy, judgemental and couldn't even be happy for her sister when she was dating Peter (even if it was a pretend relationship).
I wasn't overly surprised at Josh admitting he had feelings. It seemed to hint throughout the book. I was just annoyed at him for not saying anything back before he went out with Margot.
I really resonated with the fact that Lara Jean fancies these boys that she probably doesn't have a chance with and gets afraid when it becomes real.
I'm not sure when I started to ship Lara Jean and Kavinsky but I was all for it becoming a real relationship. I'm excited to see where things go in the next book.
