Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction #1 by Inio Asano

To give you an idea of the vibe of this volume, let me go off on a tangent ...

I remember hearing one person's account of the Cuban Missile Crisis. At the time, this person was a student and they wondered if there was any point in doing their school work, since this was potentially the end of the world. This tension--working towards a future when you cannot see whether one will exist for you--is played out in this volume. There's also a hint of District 9, as an alien space ship appears and then appears to do very little. This volume shows how eventually disaster and the abnormal can become business as usual, and how this stress permeates your life (gosh, don't know what that's like).

I won't be continuing the series but only because I'm not the right reader for it. This was an interesting one but not exactly uplifting.
