One of Our Own by Lucinda Berry
4.0

Felicia is a lawyer who volunteers at her local suicide hotline call center. One night she gets a call from a teenage girl who has been through something traumatic. During her call she learns the girl has access to a gun and is considering turning it on herself and possibly others. Felicia also learns the girl is a student at the same private high school her son attends. As the girl scrambles to end the call, Felicia feels compelled to help her so she goes against her training and gives out her personal number. The girl begins calling and texting Felicia from private numbers and shares more and more about the traumatic event that led her to contemplate ending her life. Felicia wants nothing more than to help the girl and uncover the truth.

Man… Lucinda Berry sure knows how to rip your heart out and stomp on it. This was a great audiobook! I am a huge fan of Criminal Minds so I loved listening to the narration by AJ Cook.
