The Autobiography of My Mother by Jamaica Kincaid

4.0

A tender rendering of family, strife, isolation and loneliness. it does such a great job humanising our female main character. It is so beautifully written. The author did such a great job bringing the landscapes to life. It is so powerful and enchanting.
This is about a woman who life was shadowed by the dead of her mother during childbirth and the events that follow after.
There are so many great quotes on death "Death is the only reality, for it is the only certainty, inevitable to all things"
