Andrew and Timber made me ache in ways I wasn't expecting. The two of them went on such a journey in this audio, and I genuinely couldn't have anticipated any of it. The beginning stages of their fling were such a whirlwind, with heated nights of passion and tender touches that made me desperate for their love to last beyond its prearranged timeframe. The idea of a man who couldn't form a bond being with a man whose unwanted bond caused him to constantly ache for that connection set the stage for a bittersweet relationship, and those undertones stuck with me throughout the whole book. Even as I tried to be happy that Timber and Andrew had found each other, the knowledge that they could never truly give each other what they needed weighed heavily in my mind. I almost wish this story had explored how their romance could overcome those societal norms, but instead Andrew and Timber's journey took them down a much darker, unexpected path. I honestly don't know how I feel about the warlocks and blood magic that defined the ending of their story. The sacrifices each man had to make felt fitting for how much their connection meant to them, but also like way to much to handle. Yes, Amy did try to show how their love was more important than what they left behind, but even knowing things turned out okay in the end didn't make me feel any more settled about what they had to do to get to that place.

**I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.
