This book was written in the voice of the young boy. It took some time to get use to reading his language, but after a couple of chapters your mind seems to adjust. The story itself was fascinating and I completely enjoyed reading it. I am always curious about the topic of children/people being held against their will and isolated from the world, and how psychologically they respond. This book was especially interesting because it was about a young adult who previously had a normal life taken from her and her child who has never seen the grass. I found it remarkable they different ways they reacted and handled being back in the real world. This was a true love and survival story between a mother and son.
