Something Blue by Emily Giffin

3.0

Of course, I would be the one to read the sequel first without knowing. Whoops. After a friend confirmed that it would not affect my read, I continued on as is. It was quite unsure about the novel at first due to the main character, Darcy. Even though I was not a fan of her, I did not think she deserved all the things that happened to her from the previous novel, ’Something Borrowed’. Her best friend and husband-to-be left her behind and fell in love. Darcy proceeded to fall into a downward spiral of self-doubt and depression, blaming everyone else in her life besides herself. After getting pregnant from a dick-wad, she travels abroad to London to try and start a new life with an old friend, Ethan. She started out being the self-absorbed brat at the beginning of her time in London. Ethan eventually got so annoyed and broke it down which creates Darcy’s road to redemption, compassion, and true love. Indeed, this novel is quite predictable, but I still quite enjoyed it. I would totally recommend it for those room-comm lovers out there!
