Amelia Lost: The Life and Disappearance of Amelia Earhart by Candace Fleming

4.0

A great book about a fascinating woman who knew how to live her life with flare as well as an adventurous spirit. I learned a lot about Amelia that I didn't know. Amelia was quite the forward-thinking person in her day. I had no idea she hand-crafted that wind-blown look to her hair. Or that she taught at a college where she was the only female that could get away with wearing pants. Or that she spent some time at a job working to help immigrants. She really did it all. She was not always an admirable person, I fear, but you have to admit she made a splash! And really, let's admit it, perfect people are usually less interesting to read about. Unless they are Jesus or Mother Theresa.
