This is a really cute picture book. At first, it depicts two kids and all the reasons that they don't care about each other--their differences. However, mid-way through the book, the tone changes, even as the repetitious phrasing does not and all of a sudden, the do not care's are about what doesn't get in the way of their friendship even though they are different. The book concludes with a message about what people really should care about--kindness, thoughfulness, etc. and celebrates the way that differences aren't obstacles in friendship. Plus, I love Juana Martinez-Neal's illustration style always :)
