Woman: An Intimate Geography by Natalie Angier

5.0

This is the very first work I've ever read by author Natalie Angier and what strikes me is how eloquent she can be while delivering insightful information about female physiology. She does so in a way that is situated in contemporary culture while remaining fantastically sensual and intense page to page. I particularly enjoy the way she explores her own personal relationships with her anatomy, to share stories about the interconnectedness of body and mind and this relationship as it is affected by (and engaged with) society as a whole. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking to drink deeply from a well of knowledge about the female body through every stage of a woman's life.
