“In a few weeks I was going to leave. It was what we’d agreed upon. Four dates, one kiss, and a breakup. Just for the summer”

|Thoughts|
Most of my notes whilst reading this book consist of “so fricken cute, he’s too fucken cute, he’s hilariousc I’m not crying, your crying”.
Plus, he sends her cute little pre and post surveys of their dates.

“Congratulations on your upcoming date with Justin! Your preferences are important, so he’d like to know what you think. Please complete this questionnaire”

The meet cute for this was so unique and adorable, loved how it continued to play into their story.

“AITA for naming my ugly dog after my ex best friend?”

Jimenez doesn’t like to create characters that have easy lives, and Emma & Justin are no exception! The irony of the timing of Justin’s situation made the book even more engaging.

“This was bad. Mum never left anywhere on good terms. Not jobs, or apartments, or relationships. Especially not relationships”

Even weeks after finishing this book, it just makes me smile thinking about it. Bonus points for cameos from Alexis/ Daniel & Bri/ Jacob!

“I’m not superstitious. I’m a little stitious”

Also appreciated how straight they were with each other. Being clear from the beginning they weren’t going to go the miscommunication trope.

“So you and I are never going to bullshit”

“Now I wanted my friends to meet her so I had someone to talk to about her”

It was such a fun ride getting to see their relationship grow and them both addressing the drama and questions surrounding their family.

“You’re like a docking station for small vulnerable dependents”

Feel like the whole family was punished by the decision of his mum.

“This nightmare was everyone’s. An atomic bomb. It affected everyone close enough to be in the blast zone”

And her mother…there aren’t enough words to describe how truly horrible she is.

“How could she have done this. How could anyone be this selfish? This cruel?”

This book had me literally smiling. And this series is usually one my go to buy for friends.
