The Lathe of Heaven by Ursula K. Le Guin

4.5

le guin’s writing has a way of worming itself in your brain. this story, appropriately, feels dreamlike throughout in both plot and prose. le guin also has mastered making a dream able to feel like a nightmare. the first chapter with heather’s pov stands out as one of the most powerful moments. and the fact that the title comes from a mistranslation has nothing to do with the plot but manages to feel thematically appropriate.
