The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Women by Kate Moore

Did not finish book.

Decided to drop this book. Too many good books to read to keep wasting my time!

The writing was repetitive and shallow, the pacing too slow. I’m interested in what happens, but lose interest when I realize I’ve been thinking “Geez, get to the point” since the second chapter, which feels like a while ago, but am still only 20% done. This material could be covered in a much shorter book, and while I understand the desire to paint the victims of radium companies in their best light to pull on our heartstrings, I find myself thinking that if I were these women I would’ve liked a more whole and nuanced version of me to live on, not just a “she was a great girl, everyone liked her, everything was perfect until this happened” kind of narrative.
