The Surgeon
by Tess Gerritsen
I just finished reading The Surgeon by Tess Gerritsen and as I thought, it was a fast-paced thriller. I like Gerritsen's medical knowledge and how she uses it in her crime novels. Though this book is considered the first Rizzoli and Isles book, Isles is not in it. It focuses on Detective Thomas Moore and Detective Jane Rizzoli. And, an interesting tidbit connecting this novel to that last novel I read, Abundance about Marie Antoinette, both books feature the Greek story of Iphigenia. Marie Antoinette's music teacher created a musical piece to tell the story of Iphigenia and the murdered in the book related the story of her to his murders.
