This book takes us through the inner workings of Mikage Sakurai, a young Japanese woman after the death of her grandmom. She was orphaned in her childhood and was raised by her grandmother and her passing has left her all alone to face grief and hopelessness. Soon Yuichi Tanabe enters her life along with his transgender mom - Eriko. The novel takes us through their unique relationship. In a tragic turn of events Eriko dies and Mikage and Yuichi try to deal with this. Ultimately the novel hints towards them falling in love.
A very cosy short read.
