The Snowman by Jo Nesbø
3.0

Much enjoyed this - insightful without getting on some nonsensical high horse about the nature of depravity. Nesbo has a talent for showing ordinary people, ordinary motivations, badly askew. His characters cover a healthy range and he shows deep respect for their variances. This one had a literary flavor reminiscent of some of Reginald Hill's and Peter Robinson's better stuff. Like Ian Rankin, Nesbo also gains points with me for creating believably strong female cops.
