things i liked:
- the atmosphere was STUNNING. I've seen sky cities and such before but alongside the magic system it felt so fresh and magical and i want to know more about it so badly.
- the magic system. It wasn't super complicated but it was unique and made for some amazing scenes to imagine. I almost wish i got to see more of it throughout the book
- kurara, i'll admit i don't think she developed much throughout the book but i really liked her regardless. I can't really explain it but she just wormed her way into my heart
things i didn't like
- the overall plot, it wasn't *bad* but it felt like a straight line? It was Point A to Point B with absolutely no side plot. I feel like there were no real obstacles for the cast to overcome, no ups and downs. I will admit the ending left me curious though
- also despite loving the atmosphere of the world i feel like i barely got to see it? we got 3 main settings and i feel like I didn't get to see much of it? Especially up in the sky.
- also just a nitpick but i feel like the little "one girl against an empire" thats on the cover doesn't fit this book, maybe it fits the overall series but i dont see that in this book specifically
