Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

4.0

Really good story and very fun read. I enjoyed it a lot. The only thing that bothered me was the main character. Every single element of the character felt like it was intentionally written to be the epitome of the perfect science hero to my parents' generation. Is Boomer-porn a word? It felt like Boomer-porn.

Like, I can picture my post WW2 parents just kept getting happier and happier everytime the character said, "Bullpucky" or curmudgeonly talked down to multiple people in power or of fascinating circumstance.

His character just felt a bit forced. Other than that really great book
