This book explicitly explores a young woman’s grooming experience with her teacher. When the professor is exposed for sexual assault allegations,  the protagonist comes to terms with her complex relationship with said professor. You become frustrated with the protagonists choices but she reminds you how young and naive she was. As an adult she still feels a sense of love and protectiveness for him while acknowledging his true intentions. She was the prey and he was the predator.
