The Lost Book of Adana Moreau
by Michael Zapata
I want to read this book again. The style and structure were difficult for me to grasp onto but part of that I think was because I was trying to finish it before a talk I was going to with the author. After finishing the book, I immediately wanted to start again (I didn't) because I the detail and nuance found within these narratives was exceptional, I just didn't give it the time or focus it demanded. After hearing Zapata speak about his writing style and decision to try and capture a more fluid and oral tradition I am re-intrigued.
Going to keep this one on my shelf for sure and flag as "to read again." If you pick it up, give it the space it deserves, don't rush it.
