georgialeighbrownn 's review for:
The Chimp Paradox
by Steve Peters
read this book, just read it. my mom actually read it before me and then gave it to me, knowing how influential it would be for me and my struggles.
so many self help books out there identify how you can do physical things to improve yourself and well being. this book however really gives you tasks and knowledge on how to mange your mind. even if you dont struggle with mental illness, this book is written in such a way that it can be applied to every corner of life and daily tasks.
the writing was so easy to understand, i read some in tears and manic mind chaos and it genuinely felt like therapy, at the end of each chapter, it provides you with simple tasks to aid your mind management and they all are so simple i was reading it thinking 'why haven't i thought about that like this before'
love love love it, will always keep it handy, and ive annotated it so i can flick through and find specific bits whenever i need them
