Blue Ridge Sunrise by Denise Hunter

4.0

After a teenage romance ended badly, Zoe left her hometown, family, friends, and first love, Cruz, to pursue a music career in Nashville.

Both Cruz and Zoe have insecurities caused by their fathers. Cruz's dad chose to walk out on the family when Cruz was young and Zoe's father is never satisfied with anything she does.

When Zoe's grandmother dies, Zoe returns to Copper Creek and is surprised with what she has been left through her grandmother's will. Time and maturity have led both Zoe and Cruz to recognize their father's mistakes belonged to the men and not the children.

This is a good love story with some adventure added in. Hunter doesn't come off as too preachy, but the message is still clear. Regardless of the earthly fathers, the Heavenly Father will not let you down and you should trust in Him.

I will be reading the other books in the series as soon as I can get them.
