The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

3.0

The beginning of this story was intriguing enough - a tragedy that the narrator couldn't remember, sure to reveal itself throughout the rest of the book. Her secret is powerful and cool, and in the beginning of the book you're hooked, needing to know if she's super or just crazy.

The only problem I had with this book was the typical male character. I mean, rich, handsome boy with a British accent who is a player but the female lead can change? It's overdone and it kind of put a damper on the coolness of the other things that were happening. It would have been cooler if Noah wasn't so cool, then the story would have been more realistic.

I give this book a three out of five stars because I did enjoy reading it, but I won't read it again or recommend it to a friend.
