This is a book for basic bishes. I read it for a book club as a kind of "palate cleanser". It's a cute story that simply refuses to engage critically with the structural forces that make women's lives what they are, and the very obvious benefits afforded to white people and the way they exploit them! This is a book written by a well-off white French lady and it reads exactly like you'd expect.
