Unteachable

Overall for me what made this book enjoyable was the writing, it was quite well-written, maturely and lyrically. I liked Miase, how she was mature but with a mixture of still being a kid. She was wise beyond her years with a bit of humor mixed in and ultimately I found her to be a very believable character. Unfortunately, she was obsessed with Evan. Now Evan I was never really sold on, I found him sketchy to be honest (especially considering he was with another HS student as a teacher prior. Can you say giant flashing red lights?!). Ultimately this is the reason I was not really satisfied with the ending nor found it believable. And despite many protestations by the characters, the relationship really seemed based on sex...it was pretty much constant. We would get random comments about talking for hours but what we saw? The sex.
