Le Petit Prince - The Little Prince
by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
I used to think Le Petit Prince was just a children’s book—thin, full of pictures, with simple language. But once I actually read it, I realized it hits much deeper, especially for adults. Honestly, I feel like this book was truly meant for grown-ups, not kids. It’s like a gentle slap in the face, making you stop and think “When was the last time you saw the world through the eyes of a child?” What really stayed with me was how the little prince talks about love, loss, and what it means to have someone who “tames” you—someone who makes you feel connected and care deeply. The lesson from the fox is the one that struck me most: once you grow close to someone, they become unique, irreplaceable. And when they’re gone, the pain you feel is just another part of the love you shared. For me, Le Petit Prince is a reminder for all of us who have been swept away by the world of adulthood. It invites us to remember that the most important things in life can’t be seen with the eyes, they can only be felt with the heart. If you read this as a child, you might just think, “Oh, it’s a funny story.” But when you read it again as an adult, you realize it’s really a book about life, about losing people, and about holding on to the pure, childlike side of yourself so it never disappears.
