The Devil's Heart by Cathy Maxwell

3.0

I am happy that we finally got a conclusion to this series. The previous books ended without the couples getting their "happily ever after"

This last book starts out with Margaret Chattan, the first female born in her line since Fenella Macnachtan cursed the Chattans. The curse states that when a male Chattan falls in love, he will die. Every member of the Chattan line has succumbed to love and died from it, but not before he get's his lady pregnant, thus ensuring that the curse continues.

Margaret is traveling to the home of the Macnachtan's in hopes of saving her two older brothers, Neal and Harry (their stories are told in Lyon's Bride and The Scottish Witch) who have fallen in love, and thus have fallen deathly ill.

She encounters the force of Fenella and is "rescued" by Heath Macnachtan, who happens to be the last in the line of Macnachtans and is the Laird of his clan after his older brother, Brodie, is brutally murdered.

I really liked the storyline. It kept me in suspense and there is a little bit of mystery thrown in (who killed Brodie? which, by the way I totally guessed from the beginning who it was
Spoilerthat evil Dara!
)

And i got my happy ending :)
