A Solid Black Shifter Romance
TW: Gun violence, terrible parent dynamics
3.5 stars. It is great to see a story of upper class Black people, and the dynamics within the elites. And the fact that it’s a fantasy is the cherry on top!
This was an interesting world, and I’m excited to see it develop as more of the series is published. Celine and Mason were nice, but the shifter universe is the star of the show. I really want to learn more about that. Like what happened that shifters and humans coexist now? What was it like before. How did the elites come into their power, and so on.
While a lot of those question weren’t answered, they didn’t need to be in order for the story to make sense.
The only thing that I felt was a missed opportunity was that they fought with guns, instead of fighting in shifter form. It would have been very interesting to read about.
P.S. Can we PLEASE get a prequel to see how Dallas came into power????
