The Disputation At Barcelona by Charles Chavel
5.0
This is a book which seems to be a deceptively short read, but only at first glance.
interesting side note historically, this disputation to place at the same time that Rumi was in Konya.
The extensive and wonderful footnotes point to both the wide variety of Hebrew manuscripts for the Ramban's version of events, as well as the short Latin version published by the Church. Even better is the mention of the fact that the disputation was actually conducted mostly in Catalan, with probably sides of Latin included. The rich source material cited by the author gives a great deal of reading to be done before coming back to this book again, preferably to find the most correct Hebrew version of the Ramban's collected writings.
