Dragonfly in Amber
by Diana Gabaldon
adventurous
dark
medium-paced
Pulled in immediately and loved getting back into this world!!
Occasionally too much boring detail especially in longer chapters that were a struggle to get through, but overall it was more engaging and a quicker read than book 1 despite being longer (probably since things are established already in terms of world building).
My one big issue with the book and reason I dropped it from 5 stars is a scene in which Jamie sort of threatens to SA Claire 🙃 book Jamie is not nearly as swoon worthy as tv Jamie; and while I normally argue the book is almost always better than the adaptations, the TV series made a lot of choices that make it slightly better IMHO especially where the male characters are concerned!
