Garnet Flats
by Devney Perry
Seven years ago, Foster and Talia’s relationship came to a screeching halt. She went to medical school with a freshly broken heart. He “moved on” with her best friend and roommate, Vivienne. Talia was devastated. She felt like a fool. She felt betrayed. Little did she know, there was way more to the story. Now Foster is in Quincy. Ready to tell her the truth. There hadn’t been a day in the past seven years that she wasn’t on his mind or in his heart. He still loved her.
Talia is determined to keep her guard up after everything that had happened all of those years ago. Now that Foster is quite literally standing on her porch she finally gets to try and find some closure. Closure is the last thing that Foster wants to give her. He wants to give her everything. To make things right. A lifetime of love. But first, he must get her to give a chance to explain what really happened when he had “chosen” another woman.
Foster is a man that knew he screwed up and exactly what he had to do to remedy that. He is a man that knew what he wanted and wouldn’t stop at anything to get it. Talia is a woman that unknowingly closed herself off after having her heart shattered. She is a woman that was always striving to prove herself long after she already had. It took Foster coming in and breaking down every last wall that she had built to protect herself for her to realize that she was more than enough exactly as she is.
I relate to Talia on so many levels and that is why I loved this one so much. I was so wrapped up in this story from the very first second. I quite literally could not put it down, I read it in one sitting.
