Jade War by Fonda Lee

5.0

I read Jade City with a grain of salt, it's not my usual pick, but after hearing Fonda on a literary festival I just had to try. And I loved it, so I am reading the whole series of course. To me, this one is even better than Jade City if that is even possible. The character growth in here is huge. Every single character undergoes to so many changes they all feel real and absolutely flawed.
I love the way she gives women power without disguising them as men, and at the same time I love the softer side of Hilo once he starts caring for the younger ones. Hilo's changes are so impressive.
How can I convince you to read it? Well, it's well written for starters, it's a fantasy but it will appeal also to thriller readers or to family saga readers as well as these elements are so well combined they are intervowen.
Just trust me, read it. It's worth it!
