Okay, so I thought I was going to LOVE this book, I mean really LOVE it, so you can imagine my disappointment when I only liked it. Don't get me wrong, I love the series. It's one of my favorite, but the last three books have been just kind of missing something. I'm going to really miss the characters--Jace specifically--and all of their crazy adventures. The Mortal Instruments has really shaped my reading experience so it's really depressing to know it's over...
Anyway. City of Heavenly Fire was action packed, witty, romantic, surprising, and lacking...something that the first three had. I don't want to say Clare should have ended the series after City of Glass because I loved continuing the characters' adventures, but there was just something..........I'm rambling.
4 stars because of the series as a whole. 3.5 stars for City of Heavenly Fire.
At least I'll see them again in Lady Midnight or whatever it's going to be called.
