Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Feeney
5.0
Rounded up from around 4.5 stars ⭐️ This is the first Alice Feeney book I have read so far but I will definitely be picking up more now!
Rock Paper Scissors follows Adam and Amelia, a married couple taking a trip to try and bring romance back into their relationship. But who is telling the truth?
Psychological thrillers are my absolute favourite genre and this book has everything that I love: short chapters, quick pace, keeping me on my toes and multiple points of views which are highlighted in chapter headings! There was so much depth and so many twists and turns I’m sure I nearly got whiplash! This is an absolutely amazing read for the autumn and winter months, although it can obviously be enjoyed at any time of year! Feeney‘s writing kept me on the edge of my seat and I found myself flying through the chapters.
Even when I thought I had some things figured out Alice managed to throw in another surprise. I admit, I’ve read so many thrillers that it can be hard to surprise me, but this book was able to do that. I only have one small gripe. I wasn’t a particular fan of the last chapter. I felt like everything had been tied up nicely and the last chapter unraveled some of it and gave me a whole host of new questions! I’m just personally a fan of tight endings rather than a slightly ambiguous one. Overall though, I absolutely loved this book!
I would recommend this book to all thriller fans!
