City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

5.0

Wow. A lot of people seem to hate this book. I am not going to tell them they're wrong, but I am not ashamed to declare my love for this book and in fact the entire series. This book is well written and moves fluidly, at just the right pace. It has action, it has strong, tough characters (female as well as males, which is sadly lacking in the majority of fiction), it has romance and, well, vampires and werewolves. What more could you want in a fantasy novel?

The characters are so well developed that they are real, well and truly in the room with you. Hats off to Cassandra Clare for penning such an impressive novel.
